I've been on the road all last week reinstalling a mirage engine and a EI MVP-50 engine monitor system. I got back just in time to pay for my Cessna 172 installation and head out for a flight check. Incredible radio, I haven't even scratched the surface on what it can do. I found that I need to support my hand on the audio panel when making changes, otherwise I make unwanted changes. Way to much sidetone when I transmit. I'm going out on Friday to play more.
They removed a Cessna 300 nav/com, ADF, Cessna audio panel, and an encoder. Installed the 340 audio panel, 650, Mid continent nav display, and a new encoder. They also relocated the transponder to the center stack.
The removed equipment was all state of the art when I was graduating from high school. None of my father's new light Cessnas were even this well equipped that he had back then. Into the new century.
