I've had this problem for a while, but I just changed over to KDE from GDE, and the problem persists (as I was about 99% sure it would)...

When using flashchat in firefox in linux only, it fails to load. It gives the good ol' "A script may cause your computer to hang" message, then shows random windows.

Oddly enough, firefox in windows xp works fine. I notice that the newest version of flash that I can find is version 7 for linux, whereas its up to version 9 in windows. Might this be the problem, or am I missing something?

Sounds likely, yeah. I don't know what version of flash flashchat requires, but most current is usually better and 7 is pretty out of date for a tool like flashchat which is under regular development.

Problem solved with the Flash Player 9 Beta. I am now gonna resize my partitions. Almost no need for windows anymore. Time to change the partition to be mostly Linux.

w00t!
