Flapping with slips

When landing an ornithopter, are you supposed to try to land while still flapping to a vertical descent, or flap in horizontal flight so as to slip to a stop?

I would think one would want to add a flap or two at the very bottom to arrest sink. The cool thing about an ornithopter should be its STOL abilities, you should be able to plant a landing.

I'd say as long as you try to avoid flapping in turns you'd probably be OK.
