Had my first flight in a tailwheel airplane today. Aeronca 7EC champ.

Interesting flight. Airplane flew a lot "heavier" then I expected it to. Control inputs required were all many magnitudes more than I expected.

Definitely not a two fingers on the stick and two toes on the rudder pedals airplane.

For this first flight I sat in the back and my instructor sat in the front. Next flight I will sit in the front.

Good for you, a 7EC is a great little plane and it will teach you what those two foot rests are really for.
The ailerons are somewhat heavy compared to the lighter elevator and still lighter rudder. Of course the 7EC feels a little heavier all around than a 7AC which is much lighter. A 7AC is only 1220 gross and it literally floats off the ground rather than rotate for takeoffs.

Yeah, now that I think a little more, I guess it was the ailerons that were heaviest, followed by elevator and then rudder.

Trim works great. Just in kind of a strange place. :)
