A couple of months ago, the chat feature in my installation of Firefox inexplicably quit working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. I did not do anything with the file that had all my settings and preferences in it.

Anyway, anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

The chat feature of this board? Likely an issue with Flash. You could try reinstalling it.

Ageed. Use IE for Chat. Flash doesn't work well with Firefox and they keep throwing up new releases which makes a lot of the add-ons act funny. Flash being one.
(And I really did mean throw up. I used to really like firefox but their instability is really bugging me.)

Chrome has worked out best for me. IE is buggy in chat - tends to freeze up sometimes. I've had no issues with Chrome.

Works right now on v27.0.1

Ok, so it is something else. That is the version I have. I reinstalled flash and that didn't help either. Of course, I am fully capable of not doing it right.

Could be as simple as a corrupted cookie. I've had that happen. Removing them often works.

I use Firefox and have the same problem. Tried IE and it didn't work either. I just get a blank screen.

That will happen with my IMAC too. simply quits updating the page and will not respond to any mouse clicks. All other web sites on my favorites list still work, It requires a re-set of Safari to get past it.

The problem is with my personal laptop. Chat works OK when I access it from my office computer.

Mine works just the opposite. Whenever anyone sends me a message, FF demands that it interacts via Chat, instead of the message seque. Very irritating. Wish they would just do away with chat altogether

Huh??

I can't get into chat running Win8 and FF27.0.1. Jut gives me a gray screen.
