Good Morning, New here to the forum. I thought I would post an introduction of myself. I got interested years ago as a kid in flying by spending a lot of time in my cousins Cessna 172 and Piper Cub, but once I got out of high school and college, I was never able to get back into it, fast forward many years and multiple moves, jobs, etc.. I ended up in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. My wife surprised me for my 46th birthday this year by offering to pay for ground school and my class 3 medical. She doesn't like flying in small planes as it scares her, but she knows how much I have wanted to learn to fly. So I have reached out to the local school here and I an unable to attend the Sept. ground school, but I am planning on attending the next one after that and while I wait for that, I plan on getting my medical completed. I have read through as much as I could and I don't see any medical show stoppers on my end. Everyone on here has been a great inspiration and I love looking at the photos that everyone posts. I should mention that my cousin has an older Piper Cherokee 180 or his Cessna 172, which he is willing to sell me once I get my license to gain hours and experience on, so that he can get another new to him plane to replace it. lol. My ultimate dream goal is to get a Cirrus SR22 or SR 22T or a Diamond DA40/DA50. I also forgot to mention I used to attend the Reno Air Races for about 15 years, and camped out by the pylons. Go RARE BEAR!! LOL. I look forward in sharing my progress as I go though this journey. Have a wonderful weekend.

Welcome from another future student pilot.

I took an introductory flight a week or two back and then began ground school.
I'm doing the Sporty's online school, I'm about halfway through the videos and quizzes.

I have a doctors appointment for the medical next week and my first lesson is the 15th.
I am eager to get back in the airplane and begin.

Some advice a good friend and pilot gave me, when I asked him about learning to fly was, you eat an elephant one bite at a time.
I've been repeating that to myself when I begin to feel overwhelmed by so much that is new.

Glad you are starting! I just passed my Private check ride last week! I'm 37 and was doing it after work/weekends over the last 13 months. Been a lifelong dream for myself as well. Going to be starting Instrument soon!
