Finally had to add a GB of memory to the laptop....

I've been living on 756K on XP for a while on the laptop. After installing Truecrypt the other day, I ran it out of RAM (available memory with no apps running: 45 KB - went to 28 KB with Acrobat displaying a local file, and "out of memory" when trying to display a pdf in the browser).

Added another 756 K (removed 256, added 1 GB). All is well again - much faster (less paging).

Oh, Truecrypt is great. Easy install, took about an hour to encrypt the entire system drive and OS.

I'm nothing if not cheap. I think I spent a whole $35 for it. Never really needed it before. $35 is about the cost of a flap limit microswitch sans installation.

Did I mention how great Truecrypt is?
