I flew a long XC for the first time with my Stratus 2 a few weekends ago and was not able to get a flat horizon with the HUD/synthetic vision with the Stratus suction cup mounted to my pilots side window. I had the LED's pointed to the back as others had suggested but the horizon was slanted. As soon as I moved it over to a dash mount it straightened out.

What do you have to do to be able to suction cup mount it sideways and get a straight horizon?

there is a way to adjust the horizon. I can't remember the exact way, but I'm sure you can look at the FF site and find out.

Mine auto adjusted as soon as I turned it on.
Did you mount it first then power it up?

Don't have the unit in front of me but I believe there is a "calibrate" mode to hit on the Synthetic Vision page once you are straight and level to tell it what is actually straight and level.

Calibrate button. A total of four buttons to push, as shown in the FF Pilots Guide, below. Be sure the Stratus is located where it can't move,.
