How embarrassing! Landed safely. Then, while taxiing to the ramp, turned a corner too tight and ended up in the mud.

Fly the plane all the way to the chocks.

Even though there was freezing rain in the area, {airport spokesman} Gentry said the icy conditions didn't cause the mishap.
FedEx spokesman Maury Lane said poor light and heavy rain may have contributed to the pilot missing the turn.

Hmm. Difference of opinion between airport and FedEx spokespersons...



Unless "Poor light" and "heavy rain" aren't "weather related".



Actually Poor Light could be a warning shot at the airport if the lighting wasn't on?

Good point Chuck. This happened almost 2 years to the day (Sunday the 18th) there was a FedEx MD 10 I think that crashed in MEM and caught fire. There was also an incident with them on 11/28/05 where they hit a set of movable stairs in Chicago (ORD) Seems FedEx has had quite a few incidents in the past few years, more so than any other freight carrier.
