favorite double edge razor blades?

Well, I bought a Van Der Hagen adjustable safety razor and have used it a few times. I do like it, but wasn’t blown away or anything vs the Mach3. Since the blades are cheaper than a cartridge, I’ll likely stick with the safety razor. The handle feels well made, but it seems like one side cuts less aggressive than the other. I think the adjustment mechanism puts a tilt to the top piece. Blades say they are cold forged in Germany.

Challenge accepted. I have not yet mastered the Axis powers' eigenshave. It is teaching me finesse and patience.
 
Not sure how I missed this thread until now.

TL;DR Gillette Superspeed R1 with Feathers.

I've had several SuperSpeeds, tried most of the major blades. My experience says that the "right blade" for one razor is not necessarily the best for another razor, even in the same family. Some of my other Gillettes preferred the Astras, and others Gillette. If you can, get one of the multi-blade trial packs and test YOUR razor for which blade is the best. Hard to go wrong with the older Gillettes or any of the Merkurs.
 
So what are we using for pre-shave oil? MMO? Camguard? :D
