Went to a nice fly-in at a local grass strip (MS08) this weekend. It's becoming a hotbed for LSA, homebuilt and glider activity. Very nice turnout.

Took this one pic during taxiing for departure...make sure you avoid the power lines.....;)

Wow - those are some low powerlines!

I envy you Steve. You've got a hell of a family in a hell of a location!

Btw, before we made the fly-in at MS08, Kathleen and I flew down to Slidell, LA for a morning FAA seminar on using VFR charts presented by the editor of the AFD. Very well done, and the presenter tapped Kathleen to demonstrate how to fold a VFR chart for in cockpit use for the room! (She'll have to show off this newly acquired talent at Gaston's next year.)

On the way down I showed her how to find landmarks we overflew on the chart, something the presenter made a point of discussing. Basically look outside first, then find it on the chart, not the other way around. Otherwise you will tend to convince yourself you're looking at the landmark on the ground you want to find. She picked up on it pretty quickly.

It was a good day.
