fatal crash in Cashmere

Pretty sad. Cashmere isn't an easy place to land at if your not familiar with it. I live about 1.5 miles from where this happened, never heard a thing.
However, AFAIK, the coroner has not released the ID of the pilot. Several witnesses, several differnet stories.........

Yup, very familiar with that airport, Dee. My sis' wedding reception was in the high school across the street. Grandparents had an orchard on the bluff overlooking the river, in Dryden.

They're now saying that it was former Alaskan Airlines CEO Bruce Kennedy, in his 182.

Yes very sad to lose anyone that way. What makes landing there tricky? Sounds like winds may have played a part and it kinda short, but for a pilot with his apparent skills, ya just wonder where things went wrong. Maybe there could be something to learn although we'll probably never know. I know what it's like to land over things and have scewy winds, but we do have a lot more runway here, although it's not a lot different than most grass fields and a few paved airports in the city.
