I've saved the post, I just want to gather more evidence before I say more. When I have that evidence I'll post back...

Sorry for the busted thread, I'll really try not to do that again.

I don't think FAR's are as big an issue as the United States Code, which I think that "office weenie" violated in a criminal manner by altering official records used in complying with the FAR's. See under Title 18:
§1001. Statements or entries generally
(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully—
(1) falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;
(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or
(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;

shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both. If the matter relates to an offense under chapter 109A, 109B, 110, or 117, or section 1591, then the term of imprisonment imposed under this section shall be not more than 8 years.
...compliance with the FAR's being a "matter within the jurisdiction of the executive ... branch of the Government of the United States".

BTW, this also affects my pay (per-diem only) and is the motivation behind it.

Concur with Ron above about 18 USC 1001.

That's another issue of employment law (along with the cheques that have a distinctly springy consistency)

Oooh, oooh, another game thread! It's "Guess the OP's original question."

I'll bite.

"Some admin person in my company altered some records to conceal flubs in Part 135 operations. What's the liability?"

On the news this morning there was some guy that was arrested for indecent exposure. Apparently he violated the PENAL code.

I would hire an expert for FAR 117 its the most confusing thing I've ever seen in aviaton .
