My two guesses, hunting ranch or oil and gas industry.

Interesting. I bet if you call Brooks County Air Service at 361-325-2909 they can tell you. Could be there was an event going on in town when the photo was taken, or a jet broker on field, or ...

King Ranch business probably.

See attached: Although the ranch is not contiguous, the red outline is the extreme extent of King Ranch. (Big! 825,000 acres/1,300 sq miles)

Falfurrias is right above the left side extrusion.

Hubby and I went Nilgai hunting down there a couple of years ago and it's a really nice little airport. There were lots of planes on the ramp then as well. There's a lot of hunting, exotic and otherwise, in that area. And a whole lot of oil and gas.
