I am going to replace my door window with a vented one on my '76 Archer II and can't figure out which tint my windows are. Does anyone happen to know whether these came standard with gray tint or are they clear? Surprisingly, it is really hard to tell.

These are the original windows, so looking for insight into what the factory sent out when new.

Those are clear. When new, the tint is more noticeable.

Age or they came factory with a green-ish tint. Which, in my opinion is atrocious. I'd personally put the tinted windows in, it helps a lot during the summer.

Great Lakes Aero Products did mention that they could be green as well. Since I'm just replacing the door glass, I'm wanting it to match as much as possible.

Those windows look amazing for their age. I'd be willing to bet they are clear and just have age to them.

I'm not seeing the signs of being green. Tinted are a little darker than that, but it is older. Is there any record in the logs? Like a purchase form from Piper that has the specific installations. Might be a long shot but possible.

That's a good idea. I'll look back in the purchase papers and see if it has options listed.

As a followup to this...I ended up going with the clear window for my door and it turned out to be a perfect match to the others. I also had them add the vent window, which will be great for crossflow during taxi in the summer.

Great Lakes Aero makes a fantastic product by the way.

The vent window will help so much. I plan on getting one for my copilot window when it's time to replace.

I'm trying to see how this thing works, but the pics online are a little vague. Does it somehow fold out of the way in flight? Got a pic of yours installed?

Here's a photo of one installed. The base is mounted just behind the window flap, such that the scoop can be swung into the opening. It just redirects some of the propwash into the cabin while you're on the ground, and you'll be amazed at the difference it makes. Having one on each side sounds even better.

Swing it 180 deg so that it's resting against the inside of the window pointing backwards and close the window flap before takeoff, and redeploy after landing. It's not designed for use in flight (that's what the red "CAUTION" tape in the photo is telling you), nor is it needed once you've got airflow through the other vents.

Thanks! I may have to get a couple of these.

Makes a huge difference during the summer and two of them would be like A/C. I usually close the window and rest it against the closed window because my shoulders hit it while its all the way back. There isn't really a good installation procedure for it so just put the scoop where it fits without going through the window then stick it down. If you leave it out during takeoff, you can bring it in no problem but if you get going too fast it will rip it off and potentially take part of the window with it. So when I'm doing my thresh hold crossing items, I pull it in.
