Just curious, anybody doing any pilot networking on Facebook? Is it working for you? I've been reluctant to join any new electronic systems. If it's hands down worth it, I don't want to miss out though.

How about tweeting and the others?

Thanks

Facebook has alot of pilot resources. "**** Pilots Say" and "AcroCamp";"Food Flight";"Flight Learnings""Flight Instructor Site for Pilots & Student Pilots""Air Facts""Gold Seal Flight" to name a few. Love the "**** Pilots say" though

Yeah, I hang out on FB a lot. "Greg Brown's Student Pilot Pep Talk Group" and Rod Machado's group, as well as "iPads for Pilots" and "Babes and Airplanes."

There is also a site called MyTransponder.com that is geared explicitly to social networking for pilots.

MyTransponder is Rod Rakich's baby and he's not paying it as much attention now that he's full steam ahead with OpenAirplane. I'd say that site is on the trajectory to join Orkut and Mixi. In addition, spam is horrendous there. The site code has zero defences built in and relied on flagging by users. With users being as clueless as always and Rod not paying attention you can guess how it comes out.

There's also a special entry, Hangarchat.com, a re-skinned Ngix. It's pretty lively, but then again, requires crazily active participation. Its thing is access through apps, sourced from Ngix.
