The FAA has completely revamped its instrument procedures website. Although some minor kinks exist it generally works quite well. If you sign up as a registered user (optional) you can elect to be kept updated by email for airports of interest to you. Attached is a very brief tutorial in PDF format.

Thanks! Interesting to see that there are new procedures being developed for the home airport.

Did you see we're getting ZOMBZ intersection?! Sweet! Hah.

Everyone be sure to register and mark your airports of interest for auto-notification.

And, at an airport of interest when you see a proposed change you don't like submit a comment and request a response. If you have a better suggestion, state it when a procedure is open for comments. This includes looking both at "The reasons for changes" and the development comments on the back side of the 8260-9.

Also, I highly recommend downloading the entire package for your records if it is at an airport important to you. That includes everything, the package with all the forms, the "fig" and the TERPs maps.
You technically have 21 business days to comment but the earlier the better. The book requires them to either accept your objections or inform you why your objections are invalid. And, in that unusual case where you believe they are wrong in their response you can then request that it be submitted to Flight Standards for review. That best include a cite of the pertinent language in the beginning of the TERPs order, 8260.3B:

151. COORDINATION CONFLICTS. In areas under the FAA jurisdiction, coordination conflicts that cannot be resolved at the field level shall be submitted to the appropriate FAA region for additional coordination and resolution. Problems that are unresolved at the regional level shall be forwarded to the FAA, AFS-400, for action. If the problem involves a military procedure, parallel action through military channels shall be taken to expedite coordination at the appropriate level.

What would be really nice would be for the site to keep the most recent coordination files as this data answers a lot of questions on the "why" aspect of the approach procedure that resulted.

This is interesting step considering FAA wants to do away with free download of charts eventually.

We brought that up during the Beta test. It wasn't accepted. Their view, which has some merit, is that the users can save all those data, which are pertinent to them, rather than the FAA saving it for all revision.

I countered they could delete the TERPs maps but keep all the forms up until the next revision. No go.

Then they should leave it up for a reasonable period after the approach has been published, say at least 56 days. That is what they do for the compare function on the procedure pages. That way, when a new procedure is released, one can see the rational. It would still go away at the end of the period, so there would be a minimal amount of additional space required. For most who don't follow the procedure development as it is underway, the first they are aware of the procedure is when it is published, but by then it has already been removed from the coordination site.

I completely agree. But, the grunts in OKC would likely say it would involve more work. See your private mailbox on this forum.
