FAA medical study

What could possibly go wrong with this initiative??! :rolleyes:

I swear, the FAA is on a mission to assure there will be a perpetual pilot shortage by finding new and creative ways to pull certificates.

This is just the political knee-jerk reaction to the German Wings crash.

How many commercial pilots are there? Of course you're going to have the occasional outlier in a group that big, it is nearly unavoidable. Lets hear it for the FAA, no problem too small to waste our money and make us jump through that many more hoops.
 
I heard a man behind closed doors say that the NSA would like all GA pilots to go away. They are trying to reduce the PP community to zero. He also said if anyone mentioned this outside these walls he would deny he said any of this.

Don't ask me who said this, I just can not remember. ;)

The link was talking about commercial pilots.
 
You have to admit....it is kind of a loaded question.

Anyone who would make their career flying airplanes must be crazy, right?
 
I just hope they notice how the lack of a viable general aviation sector in some countries, and the resulting ab initio training programs, affect commercial pilot qualifications.

Exactly...this was a kid that was screened and groomed from the start of his flying career. You simply can't account for the outliers without severely impacting everyone.
