FAA has request a psychiatric evaluation. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm applying for a 3rd class medical. The FAA has requested that I schedule a psychiatric evaluation; they have suggested that it would be preferably that I contact a board certificed psychiatrist familiar with aeromedical procedures. However, a list of such psychiatrists was not provided.

I've done a few searches online and I have found a few potential options, but I'm hoping that the experienced individuals in this forum can provide recommendations (regardless of location).

Thanks!

it sounds like your already passed the consult phase with a live application in the system, so everybody please skip that suggestion of get a consult to keep the option of sport pilot open, that door sounds like it is already closed. Im sure he will chime in here soon, but go to dr bruce's website and fill out the form, I'm getting the feeling you will need his help.

The AME you used should have a list of such psychiatrists.

Dr. Bruce Chien (one of the über AME's who occasionally contributes to these forums) has often said that list is not published for public consumption.

So talk with your AME, discuss with him or her what the FAA letter says, and allow them to make a referral to the psychiatrist who can help move you toward the goal line.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the AME I met with last year for the medical examination has since retired and closed his practice.

Google has returned a few seemingly relevant results:

I will contact AOPA tomorrow; perhaps they will have a few recommendations.

Thank you, I appreciate your response. You’re correct, I completed the medical application last year.

Note that the preferrable refers to the "familiar with aviation procedures" as in HIMS. The board-certified part is mandatory.
