I’m insulted every time I’m expected to tip a person for doing their job.

Just consider it noblesse oblige and you’ll feel better about it.

A negative tip would be insulting

A guy I worked with an I were on a company trip. And got treated very poorly at a very nice restaurant. He was paying. He gave a 10 cent tip (today that would have been a $200+ meal), and did it on a company credit card. THAT was insulting.

Not tipping may have been an oversight. Tipping a dime shows you mean to tip poorly.
