The article in AvWeb today about Pipistrel's import problems had me just shaking my head...

"A European light aircraft manufacturer is claiming the FAA has suspended imports of its aircraft to the U.S. because it couldn't locate one of its factories with a Google Earth search."

I'd laugh out loud if it weren't so incredibly stupid.

One of the TSA's attornies justified her legal position based on documents she found in a Google search....

Are you sure this isn't some type of shell game?

"The Italian operation had to move recently but Coates said the FAA has been supplied with all the lease agreements with Fly Synthesis, which is renting Pipistrel temporary space for the next two years."

Unverified single source connected to the aggrieved party. And they printed it without further confirmation? Not even checking Google Earth themselves to verify the spokesperson's statement? Oy. I'll wait for some verified facts before condemning anyone.

Heh. The FAA said today that the staffer was kidding about the Google Earth thing. Suuuuure. Haha. Funny stuff. I can just see the PR person... "WHAT did that idiot say to the press?!" ROFL.
