Yeah, that would stick with you forever (I saw a racing accident when younger.)
That plane was in the air for only a very short time, as well. If it was some mechanical issue it was immediate (or existed before the wheels left the ground.)

We were both in Dallas for the mid-air. I love airplanes and airshows, but it does color things.
