I'm getting ready to fly to Mexico tomorrow and ran across a waypoint that I saved while making a previous journey. It was labeled: "WEIRDCROPS".

Can anyone explain what could cause these patterns?

Those aren't crops, that looks like Mesquite brush to me. It's probably been cleared by dozers.

That's about 20 miles from where I grew up. As Cooter said, it's where the brush has been cleared, probably to sculpt the landscape for wildlife and hunting.
