I was offered a case of this oil for $5 a liter, which is less than half its usual price. I did not realize that oil HAD an expiration date. Can it be used safely?

Unless the oil has been stored in Death Valley for the last decade, or left open to the elements, I doubt that it has gone bad in any way. The base product is a few hundred million years old. The expiration date is mostly an arbitrary number. The bigger question would be is that oil compatible with your engine?

Yes, that is the only oil recommended by Rotax for my 912ULS, is what I have used for the past 5-years. I believe it is the ONLY oil Rotax says to use.

Shake well before using. Other than that no concerns.
