I've used both Barry and Lord, and noticed that in some cases, particularly the 172, the Lords had a silicone damper molded to the spacer tube while the Barrys didn't. Other airplanes might not see that difference. On some airframes, a silicone-damped spacer is used in certain positions but not others.

Probably what we should be saying is that they can cause "excessive" vibrations to occur in the airframe.

What we should be saying is that the isolators are no longer effectively isolating.
