I forgot to include the following:

"Some amazing footage, most of it from the cockpit. For those not familiar with SFO, the general approach of this flight to the terminal was from the north west, then they flew around and came in utilizing the normal approach lanes, which for domestic transcontinental flights is up the Bay (south to north), with the main descent south of San Jose.

A380 first landing at SFO
This is pretty interesting to watch.
The pilots sit away from everything, no yoke, etc. Captain pulls up a keyboard once in a while to enter info but the plane does most of the work.....
The humongous A380 makes its first landing at San Francisco airport. It seems extensively automated. The air traffic controller gives them heading, altitude and speed, and they dial it in. Pretty interesting.
For best results go "full screen" on your monitor. It will seem like you are in the cockpit."

Yup, that's a fabulous video; it's been around before.

FYI, the standard approach into SFO (which they use) is EAST to WEST, over the Bay. That's rwy 28R they are landing on.

They cool part is that they point out many of the usual VFR checkpoints us GA guys use (but we're at a lower altitude). Including the Sunken Ship south of Oakland that only pilots seem to know about.

They let the autopilot fly the whole approach but hand fly the final to landing. Makes you wonder what the Asians pilots were doing with the radar altimeter saying 30 feet, 20 feet...200 yard out over the water...:yikes:
