Emergency, or D'OH!!!

The ILS 22 approach plate has a warning on it for this very reason...

Minimum takeoff distance is 7600' at MGTOW. Have no idea what it is empty and minimum required fuel, but I bet they can fly it out with the 3580' available on the longest runway.

I agree....... Piece of cake... They only have to go 4 miles so minimum fuel, minimum weight. Add cool morning temps and max performace take off procedures and it will be off in 3300 feet...

V-1 cuts are off the table though.:yesnod::hairraise:

Ps.. I bet it gets videotaped too.. :yesnod::idea:

C-17 needs only 3000ft of runway to take off with 160,000lb load, so he's good.

Not sure why everyone makes such a big deal out of it.
I seriously doubt it was a mistake. Probably just the news exaggerating as always. Perhaps he had a flight plan filed to MCF and for what ever reason decided to do a landing at TPF without informing abc news.

Yup. visually it's a dead lineup to 22@ McDill, 4 miles farther along....

Hey Troy! Send an email to the crew saying if they can put it into 52F, we're buying dinner at the Hard8 in Roanoke!

I guess the navy IS better than the Air Force. I've never heard of a Navy plane landing on the wrong boat...

And that's not the only time, either.... here's another account, (different situation, or same one?), more planes involved:
