Installing new egt probes on Lycoming 320. Removed the only 1 probe and found the new garmin supplied probe is smaller. What is the work around, minus welding? It is just a hole and clamp style. Awaiting for a garmin rep to respond. Thought I'd ask here, as well. Thx DM

disregard...going to pull pipe and have it professionally welded...Good Good grief!!

How about a piece of exhaust gasket? All it needs to do it seal. Welding would be good too!

Welding is the solution.

No, it needs to last more than 20 seconds, as well as seal.

The right solution is to get the correct part from the manufacturer. Failing that, welding is the only remaining solution.

Of course, he could have just left the old probe in place and drilled a new hole for the new one :)
