I am holding an FAA and an EASA License + IR. I will need to refresh my annual EASA IR through an instrument check ride (- yes - EASA wants annual IPCs).

Can anyone recommend a Midwest EASA instrument instructor (ideally Chicago area) or otherwise somewhere close to Midwest. I have my own aircraft.

that may be difficult to find GA EASA examiners in US......most are only certified to an approved school for bigger aircraft, like flight safety, for a specific type, or 141 programs training foreign students but they are normally approved to perform checks from that program. I'd call some 141 schools like L3 here that have ab-initio programs with UK carriers. also, if u can fly north to Canada a bit likely find more options.

I had to get something similar some time ago, ..I EMAILED EASA and they had a list of examiners in USA.

good luck.
