Just for you, I will do it manually (cut and paste only the good ones):
1. Rich people will try to get away with anything... Sorry sir, no beach front valet for your plane, get a limo like the rest of us peasants!
2. Remember the man on Hilton Head that was killed by an emergency landing...If this wasn't an emergency the owner should be fined up to and including the max.
3. Well, let's give him credit for landing the plane safely and not hurting or killing anyone.
4. Who the heck does he think he is to just land a plane on some random beach. Idiot
5. No FFA regulations were violated? Wow! so you just go up for joy ride in you plane and land anywhere these days? I would think that would be a safety issue no?
6. Joy ride"? "Land anywhere?" "Who does he think he is!?" "Rich people!" Ughhh..... the ignorance is disheartening. He legally landed a small ultralight on a section of open beach and exercised all necessary safety precautions. No different than doing the same thing in your boat, jetski, or ATV. But then again, I hate rich people as much as the next guy...... so this should definitely be illegal, and he should be in jail. (Sarcasm disclaimer.)
7. Sure just park it anywhere. Idiot. Must be from Ohio.
8. Can you land on the Yorktown to take pictures?
9. You can't land on Yorktown. I only know this because a friend of a friend landed and actually had his pilots license revoked.
10. Just because it doesn't violate any FFA regulations doesn't mean it's smart to just lay the thing down wherever one sees fit.
11. First, a comment on the journalism, the FFA stands for Future Farmers of America who are not generally concern with regulating aviation. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) does regulate aviation. Second, the aircraft in question is a kit-built licensed as either an experimental or an experimental light sports aircraft (E-LSA). As such one does not necessarily need be rich to own one. Third, as the SeaRey is an amphibious aircraft unsticking it from the sand simply means waiting for the tide and doing a water takeoff.
12. He didn't land on the beach. It's an amphibious seaplane, he landed on the water and taxied on to the beach.
13. (Reuters) - A pilot who landed a small plane on a beach in New York City and later bragged he was simulating action seen on an Alaskan adventure TV show may lose his license, the FAA said
14. I sure am glad no Future Farmers of America rules were violated. But what about the FAA?
15. I figured it would be illegal because I thought the area was a nature preserve or other protected area. A plane seems like it would be more ecologically disruptive than a jet-ski or boat. What if he had run over a bunch of turtle nests or something? Guess its not a sanctuary?
16. It's scary seeing all these attacks on the "idiot" pilot because he legally landed a small slow seaplane on a remote part of a deserted beach. A few years ago the Wright Brothers did the same thing up in North Carolina, and nobody complained.
17. Who did this pilot get clearance from. Was he in contact with Charleston's Air Traffic Control tower? .... In another matter, another pilot once asked, "This might be crazy though, but are we allowed to land on the beach?" The controller repeatedly told the small plane pilot "no" because such landings should only be done in emergencies.
18. Despite the response from the sheriff's office, former NTSB inspector general Mary Schiavo said she believes a couple of FAA regulations may have been broken: ...... 1) You cannot land a plane on any public land ...... 2) You have to stay over 150 feet .......... She said if the pilot received some sort of special clearance from the FAA, "it was his lucky day."
19. It's amazing how the general public comments on aviation matters without having the slightest clue. The pilot did not endanger anyone. He landed his plane in the water and taxied it to the beach, where, he unfortunately got stuck. Not a bid deal. Unless you have any idea about the intricacies of airspace and ATC clearances, you need not comment.
You get the idea.
