So I’m an SSRI path 1 guy who has been off medication for about four months now. The FAA asked for a psychiatric report, pharmacy records, and past clinical records. The HIMS psychiatrist is being thorough and I’m going to see him for a second time. I’m passed the time that the FAA has given for me to get all my information in, but it’s not really in my power if the doctor is taking a bit more time to finish everything. The doctor told me it’s more about how long it takes him to do the report, but the FAA rep told me that it’s serious to get it in and a “failure to provide letter has been generated”. How bad could I be effected by the time that it takes for the whole package to get in? I worked hard to get my pilot license and it was a hard decision to stop flying so I could get help. HIMS has been a long expensive and painful process and I don’t want to lose it all because of a date.

I had to get an extension because their initial letter didn't come for a while, and they won't give me more extensions.

Then accept the denial, and then when you have the report, send it in and ask for reconsideration. Or, better....because the denied aviator is FAA’s lowest priority, do another flight physical.

Currently it’s 14 weeks to get your FAA medical record...est necissito for any HIMS eval....so everyone is re-applying.

If it comes to that I definitely shall reapply. I worked too hard to get that license and I’m not giving it up

Would having my doctor call the rep I’ve been in correspondence with and vouching for the extra time be beneficial?
