I have a non-pilot friend who has a form of strabismus known as Duane's Retraction Syndrome and he is interested in learning to fly.
Do any of you familiar with the various medical requirements (he would likely go for the Class III medical) know if this condition would prevent him from passing the physical? Or, is there a resource outlining conditions that preclude one from obtaining a particular medical?
He is interested in investigating this as it seems a bit wasteful to go through--and pay for--an entire flight physical just to learn that an obvious condition fails him.
Any advice, insight or knowledge is appreciated.
