In speaking with FAA Medical at the Arlington, WA Fly-In (Thank you FAA for having them there!) this summer, they told me that a certain drug that I was using was on their list, and the FAA doctor sitting next to the person I was talking with said, "yeah, it takes 6 days until it is clear of your system."
My question is this: If I am still prescribed this medication (for weight loss), can I fly if I wait the 6 days after taking it and then fly, but still be prescribed it?
Please note: I am not looking for a way around the FAA rules, but making sure that I have the best of both worlds, the weight loss (have lost 30 lbs) and the flying. Also, I do ride my bike 10.6 miles per day on weekdays, and limit my food intake.
