The story about this guy drifting in a small boat for 13 months has my attention. Great story of survival. I wonder how he caught turtles and birds? So many questions. I wouldn't think birds wander more than a few hundred miles from land, but what do I know.

Ironically, his misfortune might turn into a movie and his eventual wealth?

not sure I'm onboard with the story. seems a little fishy to me.

I agree. I'm holding out for details.

The photos of him the day after being 'found' he looked like he was well fed. I expected to see a thinning guy with sunken cheeks, etc. Maybe he's a skilled survivalist/hunter.

The locals did claim they saw turtle shells in the boat

He didn't appear overly sun burnt/tan. Of course he probably stayed out of the direct sun as much as possible, but still, reflective sun, etc....

he's a master survivalist he will have his own show soon, another reality show coming soon! publicity stunt 1 billion and 1

like the family who claimed their son was taken/lifted off the ground by those balloons.

I read he threw the body overboard...but who knows at this point

from CNN:
Alvarenga said that four weeks into their drift, his companion died of starvation because he refused to eat raw birds and turtles. Eventually, he threw the body overboard.
"What else could I do?" Alvarenga said.

What have the kid's parents said about their 'missing son'?

What have the kid's parents said about their 'missing son'? What was the kid's name? That the families never reported either of them missing is what raises my suspicion the highest. There was no NAVTEX notice I could find from that time frame.

The parents have been contacted and say they want to talk to the survivor and find out the details of how their son died....now sure that info would really help them though.

It's sounding more and more like this story is true. amazing
