DPE

I've been looking at DPE's in my area and found Terry Strange in Granbury TX. I like the idea of doing the check ride in less congested air space since that's pretty much what I fly in. Any body have experience with Terry?

Airspace congestion during a checkride is more of an issue for the examiner than for you, so I wouldn't go to GDJ on that basis alone. I have not heard of Terry. Typically what I tell people around here is "Go with whoever's available." None of the 6 DPEs I've used among 3 FSDO districts have ever issued a checkride failure that I considered to be egregious. Using my anecdotal evidence I've had a DPE satisfaction rate of 100%.

Go for a busy field, you won't fly published missed approaches that way...
