DENVER (AP) - Colorado wildlife officials have fined a medical helicopter pilot from Arizona after he was accused of harassing wildlife by a group of hunters who said he was flying low over an elk herd.
Authorities said Thursday that Owen Park, of Page, Ariz., was issued penalty points against his hunting and fishing privileges and ordered to pay a $200 fine. The incident occurred on Sept. 23 near the headwaters of Granite Creek, southwest of Grand Junction
Park is a pilot for Classic Lifeguard Air Medical in Page. He did not return a phone call seeking comment.
Wildlife officials say Park and his crew were returning to Arizona after delivering a patient to a hospital in Grand Junction.

Sounds like he just got bored huh? Well just when you think nobody is watching:mad2:

I doubt this really applies in this case, but in our state and many others, it is illegal to interfere with or harass hunters while they are hunting. Every now and then PETA or some other nutjobs will go running around in a field banging pots and pans during hunting season to try and scare all the deer away from the hunters.

It is also a violation to harass wildlife on Federal land, for any reason.

“The pilots in this case showed a callous disregard for the birds, the natural environment, and anyone who might have been peacefully enjoying them,”
If that is the standard it is illegal to fly.

Nah, it's plenty peaceful inside the David Clarks. Not my fault you didn't bring any with you on your bird watching expedition. LOL. :)
