I am looking into starting a couple of web sites.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to register the domains.

I looked at registerdotcom, but it looks like they can put a banner on your site.

This is from their basic service description:

Basic Web site (URL) forwarding*
*Contains Register.com and/or third-party banner ad

Is this correct?

Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

I use iPower Web for my domain hosting and web hosting. The domain is about $2.95/year and they do a great job there. Very easy to deal with and the customer/technical support is great (and they are in the United States!)

I have to put in a word for American Webhosting - www.amhosting.com. Been with them about 7 years now - can count the number of times I've had a problem on one hand...and never had to wait more than 30 minutes for a response to email questions etc (even at 2am !). Ryan is top notch :)

Start at about $5 a month as I recall, and they'll handle all the domain registration etc. for you if you want them too. Based in Reno, NV.

Thanks guys for all of the ideas.....I am looking at ipowerweb.com at this point.

Thanks again,

Steve
