I was listening to the car radio and heard an ad for a local medical/clinical trials facility: "Do you recreationally snort prescription drugs, like percocet, ...., or other opioids? Then give us a call!"

The sad part is that I must have been part of their demographics since they picked a station I was listening to.

I wonder what kind of medical experiments they are working on?

Depends. If it can be shown you were listening to the station with intent to snort prohibited medications, it could be a reportable issue.

But if you have to binge on hard drugs, go the opiate route. You will have more teeth.

Well, I had never thought about "recreationally snorting prescription medication" until I heard the ad. Is that what kids these days are doing? Did I miss out on all the fun...again? Are bell bottoms coming back?

Actually, what's been happening is that there are a lot of kids (yuppie class) that have been hooked on prescription opiates, particularly Oxycontin, and they have been grinding up Oxycontin tablets and snorting and smoking them. The manufacturer recently changed the pill formulation so that can't be done effectively, so now they are migrating over to street heroin.

That's what the big flap is about.
