Dr Bruce, I have experienced a firearm accident ( long story) leaving me with a disabled left index finger. Of course I have self-grounded ( due to injury and Darvocet use).Is there anything I should be doing during recovery and rehab period in regards to my medical?
We are are hoping for 80%+ ROM and strength. What will I have to do med certificate wise? Doctors statement or some sort of exam? Thanks in advance for your time.

I think this isn't going to be a "capability of flight" issue. You'll just have to demonstrate to your AME that you can work something the size of a radio knob with the left hand, which you can with thumb and long finger, likely.

This is like when JFK Jr. was flying in a cast. Pilot's judgement is all you have.
