Anyone have ideas on what type of digital video camera to buy? I just want one for filming random flying and fun activities that I can edit for fun on my home computer. Preferrably no more than $400 or $500.
Thanks

The two brands that are worth a crap are Sony and Canon, IMHO. Sony sells both MiniDV (the standard) and "Digital8" (the Sony standard - can you say 'Betamax?').

The Sonys have a night-vision feature (green-screen IR, basically) which can be kind of cool.

I bought one for the rents last Christmas, I think it was the Canon Elura 60 IIRC.
