Designed bird strike on Finnair Airbus A340

Great, just what a want, a mascot who is famous for hurtling themselves into things to knock them down and kill. Are they gonna change their name to 9/11 airways?
 
Wasn't the whole "angry birds" thing based on the movie Rio? The offshoot seems to have gotten more mileage than the film on which it was based.

No. "Angry Birds" was around before Rio. It was one of those boulder toss games of the "Crush the Castle" style that got popular when they added cutesy characters and paid Apple to highlight them in the App Store.

What's really amazing is that there is some marketing manager somewhere in that company that believes he has done something to improve the bottom line by having that decal applied to that airplane.
