Record setting flight. I had one brother and a bunch of friends on this mission. I had to watch it from the Alert Shack. We did know the approximate TOTs so we were watching CNN when it started. It was hilarious listening to all the media "Experts" comment when they didn't have a clue about what they were talking about.

I was in Saudi for a 30 days in Nov and Dec before the shooting started. 20 years dang.... seems like yesterday....

I had my bags packed and was on a 6 hour recall schedule sweating out the call up from mod-December. I do remember the night of the attack, I heard it on the radio just as I was pulling into my parking spot at my apartment. Was fascinating watching it all unfold on TV.

Been there, done that. 326 Med Bn 101st Airborne Sep 90-Mar 91.

I watched live on TV as CNN got the first reports. I remember feeling concerned for Bernard Shaw. I figured he would be dead within hours.

It seems like yesterday. 20yrs. Sheesh. time for the rocking chair.

Twenty years?!?

I was in OCS -- they planned on accelerating the program since they expected to run through 2LTs like crap through a goose.

I had left KBAD and the B-52G behind in 1987. I was sitting Alert in the Bone at Grand Forks when my old Buff buddies were on that mission. 20 years went fast. Most of us around then are retired now. I retired in 2003.
