Des Moines aviation watering hole

Cool! Interesting that they're serving Olde Main's local brews - I wonder if it's the same owner. IIRC, the Olde Main owner is somewhat of a 'habitual entrepreneur' and actually went to brewmaster's school just so he could open his own local micro-brew. Don't know if he was involved in the local aviation scene, though.

It's not worth going to now that they've removed the stripper pole!
 
Next time I'm up there overnight I'll check it out. Many moons ago there used to be an A-frame bar located right at the corner of Fleur & McKinley, a stones throw from either FB0. It was called "Barry's". Any time, day or night, you could find a good grouping of pilots and controllers having a few beverages. Only problem was that the wives knew where to find us when we strayed :eek:)
