I know these were developed for drones, but they plan to offer them for light sport and MOSAIC rules planes.

I can imagine a 2-seater with this engine burning tiny amounts of jet fuel, enabling very cheap flying across the world, and creating a rejuvenation of GA like we had back in the 60s and 70s.
Anyone have more info on which planes (like RVs, Slings, Sonex...) may fit these engines and what the performance would be like?

Most airplanes in the 100/120HP class are usually operated from smaller fields that don't serve jets, so Jet-A won't be available.

Pfft. As though cheapskate pilots won't arrange jerry cans of red diesel...

I was about to crap all over this generalization but 2 minutes of research tells me you’re probably right. Dang it.

But if its not to cold, diesel shouldn't be to far away.

We schlep 5-gallon cans of MOGAS already, doing the same with Diesel wouldn't be a stretch... but we do have Jet A on field. I burn it in my space heater, in fact.

A lot if not most jets can actually run on avgas or even automotive gasoline for limited periods. In the T-33 we could use avgas as long as we put in 1 gallon of oil per 100 gallons of avgas and made a minor ajustment to the fuel control with the turn of a screwdriver. Piston engines can' run on jet fuel primarily due to the low octane which results in detonation. And as someone already said jets can run on diesel fuel.

But the piston, Jet A burners cannot tolerate avgas.
