I am helping to deliver a plane to AZ route as follows. There is a blue area on the last leg, MSL altitude 9500. What is this area? Is there a better way to get through the mountains that the way I picked. I would like to stay out of as many airspaces as I can and go over the lowest mountains without going too far out of the way. Plane is a C172. I am not familiar with the plane:hairraise: so I would rather pick the safest route. I am leaving tomorrow.

18Y - KRDK fuel/lunch, KRDK - KAVK overnight/fuel, KAVK - KTCC fuel, KTCC - ONM - KDMN fuel, KDMN - SSO - P08 - P19.

Just designates that the base of Class E airspace is at 9500 ft.
It looks like you've got the best low altitude route options.

Class E is at 9500 vs 700 AGL because of the mountain shadowing of radar out of Las Cruces and Tucson. If flying tomorrow, you will probably be flying at 10500 over the area -- a month from now you'd need to be at 14500 or higher to diminish the filling ejecting mountain turbulence along that route
