New here. I had DVT in 2/23. Treated with Eliquis and no further problems. Went for 3rd Class renewal 4/24. AME called OK City, got permission and issued medical. 9/25 I got letter from OK City wanting “detailed clinical progress note including current imaging demonstrating no current blood clots”. After new ultrasound, doctor’s Progress note states “DVT Stable”. “ultrasound shows stable chronic blood clots, not causing medical issues. Significant improvement with no current symptoms. Clots may take years to resolve or calcify.”

What is likely to happen now? Will OK City want annual ultrasounds? Can I ask for my 3rd Class to be closed and fly with Basic Med? Can I see what happens and plan to just not renew my 3rd Class in 4/26? I already have a current Basic Med, wanted 3rd Class to fly in Canada.

Are you still on Eliquis?
Was it considered a provoked or unprovoked DVT?
What were your Protein C protein S, and Leiden factor 5 values?
 
I am not on Eliquis. It was just a 90 day program that finished 4/23. I asked my doctor about another scan at that time but he replied that since we had a good idea what caused the DVT (several long driving trips without stops) and my leg returned to normal, "scanning could show a residual clot but that is very different than an acute DVT and would be felt to be mature and chronic in nature".
There were no other tests done other than the ultrascan so the values you ask about are unknown.
 
Get all the doucmentation from that period, Doc visit dictations, Venous dopplers, and a current "fully resolved" History and phyiscal, and the doppler study that they require. You'll get a replacement cert from them but it wil take about 1 month after you send these items in....
