So, the dog and I like long walks on the sidewalks (beaches around here don't allow dogs).
But what the dog doesn't like is snow/ice/slush building up between her toes - she will stop and stand on 3 legs until I clean the offending paw...
Last time I tried some boots, they stayed on for about 3 seconds...

Anyone have suggestions for boots that will stay on? Or, other solutions?

Yeah move to a beach that allows dogs.

Something like this or even full suit variants.

I see that some use paw wax. No experience with using anything like it. It doesn't snow much where I live and when it does the dog loves it!

If you watch any of the "reality" shows set in the north (Life Below Zero, etc) you'll see this on some of the dogs. First time my reaction was S&M for dogs?

Fun watching your dog get used to new boots when learning how to walk in them.
If we keep him walking he keeps them on, once you are back to the house he'll take em off.
Every once in while I nick his skin in between his toes with the trimers. I wrap a paper towel around his foot and he'll leave it on till morning. I think he's too tired from standing up for the trimming to worry about pulling it off till morning? lol He's a poodle that needs trimming every 6 or so weeks.
We used to send him to the groomer for years until he got too old to stand there for the whole time. Now I do it a little at time so he don't have stand there for long periods.
My wife went to dog grooming class and I learned from her, she doesn't like doing it. 14.5 years running now doing it on and off.

We have used cloth boots with velcro at the top at the ankles that seemed to work pretty good and our dog got used to them pretty fast.

Just happened to have a picture. These are cheap little boots that we have not used I don’t think. She had him a better set years ago.

He doesn't seem to mind the boots. This is Cruiser in the middle of a haircut. He's always getting his hair cut! lol

Murph had a quad of fleece with a bit of rubber on the bottom, and velcro around the ankle. He wasn't fond of them (and that's being polite) but he put up with them so he could play in the snow.
