Any of you DFW guys ever fly out of Sycamore (9F9)? The old Gooney Bird that's been there forever is finally for sale:

I've always wanted to ride in one of those. I used to take lessons out of Sycamore, and I always wondered how they would ever get that thing out of there if they ever sold it. It was cool to watch them fire up the engines every couple of weeks, but kind of sad to see it sitting there deteriorating. :(

I love DC-3's:)

here is the one I use to fly. If I can figure out how to post a picture:eek:

Ahh Zero? Since the miltary designation was C-47?

You got it.

Dumb joke (that was asked of me once).
Unless one takes the tack that just because the miltary renames something, that doesn't change what it really is.

But once it was given an AW cert it was no longer in the Military.

You can own one, there's a bunch of them out there still. Get the Super 3 with the R-2000s. You can get a decent one for $100k and about $350hr for operating which if you figure what that plane is capable of, is dirt cheap.
