What does the S switch do? I have been unable to find an answer.

Thanks. Odd, the radio on the aircraft needs it off (away from the S), but the handheld needs it switched toward the S.

Stereo for planes wired for it otherwise just use M for mono. It was pretty progressive

A bit of a thread hijack here. I have a GMA35c and I use a David Clark mono headset. From what I have read, there is something called 3d mode (it can be enabled via the GTN750xi). Just curious if anyone uses this mode and is it worth investing in a pair of stereo headphones?

Most of the newer audio panels have that 3D mode (Garmin’s 345,350/35, the PS Eng 8000G, 450B) and I personally find it very useful. I find it much easier to be able to listen to a busy ATC freq and pick up ATIS on the 2nd COM with that 3D audio capability. It does require stereo jacks/wiring and stereo headset, but I’d hope that anyone installing a new audio panel would be doing new wiring and stereo jacks.
