So the DAFIF (Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File) is going away on Oct. 1 and I want to download all the info before that, but... When you go to the site there's about a zillion different files. Anyone have any experience with the DAFIF and know what all the different files are?

FAA is supposed to be coming out with a free US-only database to replace the DAFIF soon, but it'll have a lot less info so I want to grab this while I can.

Thanks!

Kent,

we used DAFIF when I was working testing avionics for our displays. It was basically a sectional or WAC chart, I think we also had towers that showed up. Also showed airways and all navaids on the IFR version. Thats all I can remember that is in there, probably more...

Get a hold of Paul Tomblin. He formats the DAIFF data fro Co-Pilot on the Palm. He's mentioned that he'll no longer have data for Europe when the data goes away.
